The painting depicts an entrance doorway of a familiar public building, known to the artist. The artist uses flat matt acrylic paint to build up areas, constructing the image by selecting certain architectural details to include, playing with colour combinations and interactions of form. The final image is a reimagining of a familiar space evoking memories and nostalgia.
